Good-bye summer, hello school year!

Well, once again I've let the old bloggity blog fall by the wayside. August has been a busy month and I simply didn't manage to get any posts up. BUT, now that I have all this free time while the kids are at school, maybe I'll do better?!?! I know, I won't hold my breath for that to happen, but a girl can dream.

Our summer officially ended last Tuesday when all 4 of my J's left for school. I can't believe I don't have any more babies at home, and I do miss my little shopping partner, but I am not going to lie, the free time is going to be nice. I forgot how much faster I can run errands without 4 kiddos in tow and I can actually fit a full shopping run to Costco in my car when they're not filling the seats. The first week has gone incredibly well for everyone. I am especially proud of the Doodle, he walked right in on the first day, put his things in his locker, sat down and went to work. And I was pretty proud that I didn't cry at the Boo-Hoo Breakfast too, I was afraid I was going to embarrass myself. I'd have been toast if he'd been upset, but he set a great example for me so I was able to keep it together. It's fun listening to him recall the day and tell about all the new friends he's making (though I'm afraid he's inherited my inability to remember names), and he truly seems to be enjoying himself. He got his first "paw card" today for good behavior and walked it down to the office all by himself, a pretty big deal for a kindergartener. Not too bad for the kid who was so shy that he didn't speak 3 words in his first two years of preschool.

So here they are, my 4 cuties all ready to conquer the 2011-12 school year!

We packed apples for their teachers in cute take-out boxes, I think it's important to show teachers how much we appreciate them, even if it's with something little.

They look so adorable in their uniforms. Love the apple idea. Hope the school year continues to be amazing for all of them.

p.s. I'm loving the free time too. I agree with the ease of shopping without the little ones in tow.
