B&W Wednesday, Forty

Yep, I'm 40 and you know what? I'm totally fine with that! I'm not one of those people that gets all weirded out about birthdays, even the big ones. I don't remember 30 being a big deal at all, in fact, my thirties were amazing and I plan for my forties to be just as good, if not better. I'm older and definitely wiser, but I'm still the same fun-loving chick that I've always been and I don't see that changing at any age. My friends and I joke that our nursing home better be a good one, because we plan on being a handful, just like we are now.

We celebrated my big day here at our house on Saturday, with about 50 of our closest friends and family. We had some amazing Mexican food, a great variety of beverages, a decadent red velvet chocolate chip bundt cake (I know, right?!?!) and a TON of laughter and silliness. It was everything I could've wanted in a party and then some. I'm so blessed to have such a great family and amazing friends, both old and new, and appreciate each and every one of you for helping me kick off the 40's in style.


Yesterday was my actual birthday, so Derek and the J's took me out to have some of my favorite foods, sushi and hibachi steak and lobster. It was absolutely delicious and we all had a great time watching our chef prepare our meal.
